Will it be warm enough?
May to October, month by month, and what we put in your guests' hands when the evening cools.
We reply within 24 hours.
June to mid-September is comfortable outdoors. May and October need a jacket, and the hall is heated all year.
May
Cool, bright and changeable. Tell guests to wear flat shoes, because the ground can still be soft, and expect jackets by nine.
June and July
Warm and long. A ceremony at half past five is in full sun, so put water at the shore. The evening stays comfortable outdoors until ten or eleven. Rain is the risk in these months, and the rain plan is here.
August
The warmest evenings, and the peak of mosquito season at a lakeside property. If you want the grounds fogged, the couple arranges it. The venue does not fog.
September
Warm days, cool evenings. Once the sun leaves the water, the valley cools faster than the forecast suggests. Wool blankets are in a basket by the fire and on the deck, and the fire is lit before dinner. The aspen turn gold around the property, and the mosquitoes are gone.
October
Plan the evening indoors and treat time outside as a bonus. An early-October ceremony at two o'clock works. A Saturday is $6,950 plus GST.
What to tell your guests
One line on the invitation does most of the work: the ceremony is on grass and the evening is partly outside, so bring a layer. The guest page says it for you.
Ask about your date in an enquiry, or book a tour to stand on the lawn at the time of day you plan to marry.
Is September too cold for an outdoor wedding at Spruce Valley Events?
The days are warm and the evenings cool quickly because the property sits in a valley. We light the fire before dinner and put wool blankets out.
When does the outdoor season end?
The hall is heated and in use all year. Ask us about your date.
Are there mosquitoes?
In early to mid August, yes. The venue does not fog, but you can arrange it. June and September barely register.
