What your guests do while you are away
The hour between ceremony and dinner: where they will be, what there is to do, and what we put in their hands.
We reply within 24 hours.

While you are at the shore with your photographer, your guests are on the deck with a drink, the hall doors open behind them and the lawn below.
Where they will be
The deck faces west over the water. Drinks come out. Lawn games, bocce and croquet, give a guest who knows nobody something to do with their hands and a reason to talk to a stranger. Children head down the slope towards the water, so keep an eye on them. Nobody swims here.
Four guests worth planning for
- Your grandmother. She needs a chair in view of the party and a short route to the washroom. There are no steps from parking to the hall, no ramp needed, a 6 ft entrance corridor and a 36 inch door to the deck.
- The friend who knows nobody. Lawn games, or a walk down to the water.
- The children. The lawn and the slope, within sight of the deck.
- The one who wants to be useful. Give them something to carry.
What we put in their hands
Wool blankets by the fire when the evening cools. Umbrellas at the hall doors.
Parking and where to stay
There is parking for 150 cars on gravel with street lights, angle-parked along the road on the south side and at the west end of the lot, and room for up to 10 self-contained campers on the grass west of the hall. Hotels are in Nisku, about 19 minutes away. There is a Wyndham Garden 18 km from the venue.
Check the hour against your timeline in an enquiry, or book a tour to stand on the deck at that time of day.
How long is the gap between the ceremony and dinner?
It is your timeline to set. The lake is quiet for one hour around the ceremony, and your guests are on the deck and lawn while you have portraits.
Is there anywhere for guests to sit outside?
Yes: the deck, and seating on the lawn. From September the fire is lit before cocktail hour.
What do children do here?
The lawn and the slope down to the water. Children near the water need supervision. No swimming.
